Marinex Glass Bakeware production began over 50 years ago by Santa Marina, the largest glass manufacturer in Latin America. Located in Brazil, Santa Marina has been producing different glass products since 1895. The factory location is close to raw material deposits of boron and sand which is rich in color and quality. During the production process, these raw materials are combined using heat to make borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is resistant to changes in temperatures used in cooking and baking. The raw materials also give Marinex glass bakeware a slight bluish tint consistant throughout all pieces. Marinex Glass Bakeware offers several shapes and sizes that have countless uses in culinary activities and are prominent by their beauty, durability, and ease of cleaning. It can be used to prepare, bake, and serve food as well as to freeze prepared food. It is safe for both conventional ovens and microwave ovens. Marinex Bakeware can go from the freezer/refrigerator to a pre-heated oven where the oven temperature does not exceed 100C or 212F to start. However, Marinex Bakeware should not be used on stovetop burners or over a direct flame. This is a 1.5qt. medium round souffle dish that measures 7-1/8" x 3-1/4" . These bowls are useful for serving a lot more that souffles. I bought them for my one bowl meals in front of the TV. They are great for cereal too.The edges of these bowls refract light to produce a bright iridescent blue that does not show in the pictures. This blue is especially bright and beautiful around the flange.The glass is not nearly as thick as mom's old Pyrex. I do not think they would survive being dropped in a cast iron sink or on tile.The finishing is excellent. I see no waviness in the glass, The edges are smooth and seam free.

The product looks very sturdy, and is the perfect size for me (not too small, not too large). I like the fluted rim-it looks decorative. I've used it a few times so far, and have not had any problems with it. My food cooked just fine, and this product was cleaned very well in the dishwasher after.

I was not sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised and find my self using this all the time for a multitude of uses. Because it is glass it is great for making salads in when I am making for 2!
