I was looking for something to make chicken pot pies in. After reading the other reviews, these seemed like the right size. I haven't cooked in them yet, but just from first glance they are the just the right size. I also really like the wavy edges for the pot pie crust to hold on to. They also would be great for individual french onion soups or even a bigger portion of dessert. I think bread pudding would be perfect in these! The little handles make them so cute, but also safer for taking in and out of the oven. One reviewer was right in that they do not stack well. So if you are limited in cabinet space, then maybe you should go with something else. But everything else about these is perfect! I'm so happy I picked these!

Bought these for making individual chicken pot pies. They hold a sufficient portion for most adults, but I'd prefer a hearty portion (20 or 24 ounces), and have the option of either not finishing and having leftovers, or stuffing myself, and hitting the gym the next day to offset the indulgence. My wife says these hold more than an adequate portion (she has more discipline than I). The handles are a little delicate, and I don't expect that they can withstand much abuse (banging around in the kitchen sink or in your cabinets). The next time I buy dishes for individual pot pies I will get larger dishes, with the straight fluted sides - I prefer their appearance. These also don't stack.One of the four I purchased arrived smashed into a dozen pieces, due to poor packaging. Amazon had a replacement to me within a couple days, as usual.
